An extensive expansion and renovation during normal operation of a hospital. On the ground floor, a new main entrance, registration area, and administration offices were added. On the first floor, a new central sterile space was added for storage and pack and prep of surgical equipment and supplies below the operating rooms. On the second floor, ten new operating rooms for both Cardiovascular & Orthopedic procedures were added. There is a satellite pharmacy, 18 CV-CCU rooms, and around 50 pre-op rooms to accommodate different cases. There is a new PACU bay, short-stay waiting and family waiting. There is no third floor. The fourth floor is MS-ICU and Respiratory Therapy, both of which were vertical expansion above the existing hospital.
Atop the South Tower is a new mechanical and electrical penthouse that houses two Trane fan wall air-handling units, a 52-ton Trane air-cooled chiller for back-up to the chilled water coil feeding the surgery unit, hot and chilled water pumps, and heat exchangers.
