Arch Willingham has served T.U. Parks in residential construction, residential development, residential
remodeling and information technology for 31 years. His original plans were to pursue engineering but
discovered his fascination with the building process that led to earning a B.S. in Building Sciences from
Auburn University.
Arch’s family has lived in the Chattanooga area since the 1800s, and he feels a deep sense of pride for
the community that’s helped raise him and his family. In addition to serving on the planning commission
and as a city council member for Lookout Mountain, GA, he participates in and supports a number of
philanthropic and civic organizations throughout the area.
He’s served in various roles, including Chairman of the Board, for Associated General Contractors of East
Tennessee and has served on the board of directors for RE:START – The Center for Adult Education,
Foundation Homes, the Downtown YMCA, Chattanooga Senior Neighbors, Alexian Brothers of the
Southeast Foundation and Widows Harvest Ministries, among others. In addition to his philanthropy,
Arch is an adjunct professor for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he teaches
construction estimating and building information modelling.
When asked why he loves residential construction, Arch points to the relationship-building aspect
inherent in the process and what the finished product means to the homeowners.
“Building or remodeling a home is personal – what we’re creating really matters to someone. I like
knowing that we get to be part of something lasting and special that makes an impact in people’s lives.”
